looks like a pretty sweet lineup, minus R.E.M. they just don't seem like a festival band to me. nice and diverse though.

I agree with windorascrub......everything looks so good except for REM.....I would bet a $ that REM is a headliner at Coachella also......This little Florida Music Festival isnt so small anymore!!!

looks good. already booking a flight to miami. the seminole reservation is a big plus. this festival got a little expensive over the four - five day period (almost like vegoose). having to travel to different venues for different shows. Camping onsite is a big plus, with everything staying at the venue!

I think REM will be good...Everything else looks great too! Can't wait for Beasties and to see Phil again. I'm not too sure I like 311 in this mix at all though. We'll see how that goes I guess. I do like some MSMW,umph, bisco, the national, of montreal, mule, and theivery corporation is sick....

REM and Beastie Boys are headlining Langardo.. Yikes!! That's another blow to the Jam Community. Oh well. I like the festival for sure. Big Cypress is a great loacation. No STS9, that's weird. Other wise, good line up. I can't wait to know what latenights are going on. But didn't Phix break up??

Good line-up minus the Headliners poor choice, IMO. AND NO TREY!!! COMMON Big CYpress is his playground!!!

moephish > i agree with your additions. but i also think it's getting away from the vegoose direction. no more traveling through the city late night for late nite shows, i'm sure everything will be held on the reservation (ie: bonnaroo, waka, 10klf). which i prefer.

DONT EVEN COMPARE THE GOOSE TO THE RADO. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO EACH OTHER.

ONE MORE THING.....IT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE METERS IN. YEAH NEW ORLEANS SOCIAL CLUB, AND PBS ARE GREAT. BUT WERE GETTING THE METERS!!! LET'S JUST HOPE THEY DON'T FIND A REASON TO KILL EACH OTHER OR BREAK UP AGAIN BEFORE MARCH.

As long as REM goes pre-Automatic For the People, this looks like a nice way to kick off the festy season. I say do Life's Rich Padgent or Green cover to cover.

rje182 > Understand your point. I guess what I was trying to say was that the lineups in general have shifted from more of a "jam" to more (and I hate using this term) but "mainstream". Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of good music there (I like the addition of Built to Spill and others) but I guess I just miss the good ole' days of the original Vegoose and Bonnaroo...

1/2 this fest looks real real good. But after last year being the best land fest I have ever attended, I am very dissappointed in the overall lineup and am skipping this fest Much rather see Panic, moe, Galactic, Kellar, Taj Mahal, Franti, sts9, greyboys, Trey, mofro, on and on. I am kind of shocked that promoters (also promote Jam Cruise, Carribean Holidaze) decided to go Vegoose rout with the other half. Perhaps, with a much larger location, they had to change core focus, but to me, not worth flying from west coast and paying alot of $$ esp without no panic or moe

I guarantee that most major festivals will be moving away from the 'jam' scene to alternative acts. What quantifies alternative? Well, despite some REM records in the early nineties, they were understood as a quintessential, groundbreaking indie group in the eighties. The National gaining more and more attention. The Beastie Boys have always kept an alt edge, despite hit singles. Built to Spill, of course, top tier alt. And the jam master, Phil Lesh, is on the bill. I think this lineup is excellent, and would not be surprised if festies like Waka follow suit.

Mediocre headliners in my humble opinion. Excellent supporting cast. UM, DB, Mule, Avetts, Claypool, Duo... I'm stoked.

Don't think I'll be there. I only go tot festivals where ALL the bands noodle endlessly and the songs arent any shorter than 27 minutes and the crowd is allergic to soap.

well... this festival got really big. and awesome. love the entire line-up except for 311, but that's not something to get fired up about. i really like the emphasis on more alternative/indie acts (of montreal, built to spill, golem, dr. dog) as well as the groove/funktronica/hip-hop acts (thievery, the roots, new deal, the duo, bassnectar, msmw, balkan beat box). a truly stellar line-up, with something for everyone.

i as well am a little underwhelmed by the headliners(other than phil) but having never seen REM or the beasties, im not one to comment on their shows. but it goes to show you that the "jamband" scene just doesnt have many headliners, other than phil or bobby, panic or trey solo. these festivals have to diversify otherwise itd be the same headliners year after year.

Nice to see Langerado continuing to branch out and embrace all forms of music... REM, Beasties, Built to Spill, Ghostland, Of Montreal, The National, !!!, Minus the Bear, Avett Bros, Pelican (hellsya), and then a bunch of jammier bands... well done. Looks a lot like the way Bonnaroo and Vegoose are approaching fests... hmmm i love music.

Yeah, everyone crying over REM and 311 wasn't predictable.

Anyway, outside of a couple acts, I'm loving this lineup and will be busting my ass to make it down again! I had a blast last year and it really sounds like the changes made will enhance this one in a big way.

Check out Beastie Boy's "In the Mix". It's all instrumental jam songs. If they play some of that @ Langerado they'll fit right in. It's going to be tough for other festivals to top this lineup.
